Grocery Shopping Assistance
Agency bus picks up seniors from home to go to a major grocery store where volunteers provide shopping assistance from reading labels to lifting items off shelves. Bus can accommodate seniors with walkers. Free service. Seniors often have a snack or meal and socialize in the grocery store eating area. Seniors are driven home and assistance is available to load groceries into the home.
Dairyland offers dairy products organic produce and groceries fresh baked goods popular juices and beverages desserts and household cleaning products from their own suppliers. Customer must set up account number with company in order to use service.
Shopper can phone in orders day before for next day delivery. Shopping assistance is included in delivery charge. See below for delivery charge. Payment by secured credit card.
Those registered with HandyDart can book for a trip to a grocery store. If using HandyDart to return home must be able to load groceries onto the bus without assistance and must carry groceries on lap.
One-to-one volunteers will accompany seniors for light shopping.
Phone in orders taken from 9 AM – noon. Minimum $25 order. Payment by credit card or cheque upon delivery.
